Engr. (Prof) Olumide Moses Ogundipe

Engr. Prof. Olumide Moses Ogundipe bagged his first degree in Civil Engineering at University of Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekti) with First Class Honours in 2001. He obtained Master of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering at University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State in 2006. He won the Petroleum Technology Development Fund Ph.D Scholarship in 2008 for Ph.D study at University of Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom, where he carried out research on the Mechanical Behaviour of Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayers and bagged Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering in 2012.
He had his first post-graduation work experience at Federal Government College, Sokoto, Sokoto State, where he taught Mathematics during the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme from January to December 2002. He worked briefly as a Trainee Engineer at Delcon Engineering Company, Effurun, Warri, Delta State in 2003. He was employed as Assistant Lecturer at University of Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti) in 2004 and promoted to the post of Professor of Civil Engineering (Highway and Transportation Engineering) with effect from 1st October, 2019. He was on Sabbatical leave in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State from December 2019 to November 2020.
Engr. Prof. Olumide Moses Ogundipe has held different positions as an academic at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, among which are: Coordinator, Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES); Acting Head, Department of Computer Engineering; Acting Head, Department of Civil Engineering; Chairman, Faculty of Engineering Postgraduate Committee; Chairman, Faculty of Engineering Research Committee; Member, College of Postgraduate Studies Academic and Research Committee; Member, College of Postgraduate Studies Board and Member of the University Senate. He is currently the Dean, Faculty of Engineering in the same University. He has supervised Civil Engineering Theses at the Postgraduate Diploma, Master and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) levels and served as Examiner on Master and PhD examinations within and outside Ekiti State University. He is also a reviewer for many Local and International Journals. He has published over 60 well researched articles in international and local journals and proceedings of conferences.
Engr. Prof. Olumide Moses Ogundipe is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers and Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Highway and Transportation Engineers. He was registered as Certified Civil Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria in 2008. He was Public Relations Officer, Assistant General Secretary, General Secretary, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers Ado-Ekiti Branch at different times. He served as Member of the Council of the NSE from 2018 to 2020, Member, Civil Engineering Committee in 2018 and Examiner, Nigerian Society of Engineers Corporate Membership Examinations from 2019 to2022. He is currently a Member of the Continuous Professional Engineering Executive Examination Committee of the NSE, Member, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers Magazine Committee, Member, Codes and Standards and Member, Fellowship Committee of the Nigerian Institution of Highway and Transportation Engineers.
